Nomi

Nomi is an Italian cheap author who has been part of the community since 2012. Before 2018, he was a private author and he was trying to learn programming by mixing and copying other people's codes (he continued to do this until 2022). He's best known for creating characters such as err_connection_refused, Undefined Universe, RedDevil and σαεν. His forte are variable expansion and external programming.

History[]

Nomi joined the MUGEN community in 2012 after discovering the game engine on YouTube. Initially, his first interest revolved around cheap characters. He attempted to create some himself, but without success. The complexity of coding cheap characters led him to give up rather quickly. So he continued to create his "normal" (now lost) private characters.

In short, he was a lurker who silently watched the cheap community for six years. It wasn't until 2018 that he decided to create a YouTube channel primarily dedicated to osu! and TrackMania. In 2020, he started creating MUGEN matches and fulfilling community match requests.

During the same year, he made another attempt at creating cheap characters but, realizing he lacked the necessary skills, he resorted to using other people's codes without permission, actions he would be ashamed of eventually. Nomi preceeded to create many random and game-breaking characters.

Few months later, he decided to create his own website and Twitter account, where he provides sneak peeks of his WIP characters.

Currently he still creates characters and codes entirely by himself. Sometimes even with other authors doing collabs.

Dramas[]

In 2022, Nomi was caught by the Japanese community copying others' codes. He was asked politely to stop copying codes on Twitter and he agreed. He was also teased secretly in private servers on Discord, but he considered it as fair punishment. He promised that from 2023 onward, he would learn how to program and stop copying codes.

Trivia[]

The thing he loves most is breaking or finding bugs in the game. Examples: Code.Dystopia and err_connection_refused.
He was the first to bring the ultranull tier to the western community. Talked first with Cyber, to examine it better.
His very first public character was an edit of Will_Of_Prison_Flame, now lost.
Nomi has two favorite characters of which: Beatrix Repha created by Choon, Crazy-Catastrophe and Mainyu created by Okihaito.
Speaking of favorite characters, Nomi was quite obsessed with Infinite Soulabyss because of how it worked. In fact, he created extremely similar characters.
Nomi likes to use foreign languages in his characters.
Nomi's most downloaded cheap character is Nihil.
